Brandon Randolph is quickly rising as one of the top players in the Class of 2017. Attending the Westtown School (NY) and playing AAU with the PSA Cardinals, Randolph has formed a tremendous duo with five-star recruit Mohamed Bamba. Bamba may be one of the best players in the 2017 class, but it’s Randolph, the less heralded prospect that has emerged as a dominant force this summer. After receiving offers from nearly 30 schools, Randolph is now down to 12 and ready to narrow into a decision.

Randolph’s “Big 12” is packed with basketball powerhouses such as Kansas, UNC, and Arizona, and it’s clear that he would like to make a decision soon, saying, “ It’s definitely going to be at the beginning of the school year for me.” 247Sports gives North Carolina a 67% chance of landing the 6’6”, 183 lb shooting guard, but as of now, Randolph is just focused on his game. “I’m just trying to finish my high school season with a bang,” he says. “I’m trying to end everything on a good note.”

After going from an underrated 2017 prospect to being ranked in the top 50 of the ESPN 100, Randolph definitely has to face some pressure. However, he doesn’t ever let it get to him, saying, “I just try to play my game, let my game speak for itself, and don’t pay attention to rankings.” explained the 4-star shooting guard.

Although it may seem unexpected, Randolph’s rise did not come out of nowhere. Ever since he started playing basketball at the age of five, Randolph had a clear love for the game, but when he hit a late growth spurt during his high school career, that love produced results. “I didn’t get this tall until this year,” he said. “I just really love the game. I love practicing, working on my game, and in general, just playing.”

Coinciding with his growth spurt was his increased playing time with the PSA Cardinals. His time with the Cardinals have undoubtedly benefited his growth and development, as he says, “I’ve been playing with them since I was in sixth grade, so they help me become a better guard and a better person.” he continued. “Once I hit my growth spurt, they helped work on my game even more and become who I am today.”

Now, as his senior year awaits, Brandon Randolph should become a household name to fans of high school basketball. Joining forces once again with Mohamed Bamba, Randolph will try to prepare for the rigors of college basketball, while also concluding his recruitment. If you haven’t been following him thus far, he is surely a player to track this year, as he finishes up his high school career. If one thing’s for sure, Randolph is playing for the love of the game, as he says, “I really love the game. That’s basically it. That’s my whole motivation.”
