Kris Wilkes was born to play basketball. The 6’7” Small Forward from Indianapolis, Indiana has been playing basketball his entire life and now, as his high school career nears its end, is looking to take his game to the next level. “One day, I can see myself in the NBA, but while I’m in highschool, I wanna get into college, play a year or two there, then make it to the NBA,” remarked Wilkes.   With offers climbing into the double digits, Wilkes will definitely have a shot to make his dreams become a reality.

Kris Wilkes was born on September 18, 1998 in Indianapolis, Indiana and by the time he was old enough to walk, it was clear that he was destined for something special:  “I started playing basketball at the age of three, but my greatest achievement is probably just being smart. Not just on the court, but also in the classroom.” The high school junior currently holds a 3.5 GPA, which is incredible considering the time and effort that he has to dedicate to his game: “I just try to keep getting better each day and then, one day,  I wanna make it to the next level.”

For the five-star Small forward, the next level would be playing in the NCAA, which he is nearly guaranteed to do. Wilkes holds offers from schools such as Stanford, Georgetown, California, Indiana, among others, but as of now, there are no frontrunners in the process: “It’s been a good experience for me, but they are probably all about equal now. [I plan to make my decision] around this time next year.”

One of the foremost reasons for Wilkes’ increased attention is his extraordinary progression with his AAU team, The Indy Hoosiers. This is due to his astounding work ethic, but also the team's ability to improve the skills of their athletes. “Playing with them has helped a lot. I think playing with them has got me a lot better,” explained the Hoosier Forward. With two years left in high school, Wilkes will have a great opportunity to further develop his game: “I want to work on getting to the three more. I plan to improve by just staying at school and in the gym.”

With a couple years of high school remaining and plenty of offers on the table, Wilkes has already proven to be an ascending player in the Class of 2017. It is no doubt that he will continue to be a player to look out for in the class of 2017.
