Don’t look now, but Jalen Hall is already on his way towards football stardom. After receiving his 33rd offer from Tulsa earlier this week, Hall has certainly made an impact on the recruiting trail. With his sophomore year coming to an end, Hall will have the opportunity to take his time and make an educated decision, as he said, “I’m sure I’ll commit as a senior. I don’t plan on committing early,” Hall continued, “I’m still taking the process slowly.” While he may be taking the process slowly, it’s clear that the schools recruiting him are moving at a rapid speed. In the last four weeks, Hall has received offers from Texas A&M, Fresno State, Ohio State, and most recently, Tulsa.

Even with the most offers of any recruit nationwide in the 2018 class, Hall still anticipates more to come his way. “I’m waiting on LSU, Alabama, and Clemson.” said the 6’4”, 185lb wide receiver.

After a sophomore campaign that saw 10 total touchdowns, Hall burst into the national spectrum, resulting in 247Sports ranking him as the #7 overall prospect in his class. Playing alongside Hall at Augustus F. Hawkins High School (Los Angeles,CA) is fellow standout wide receiver, Joseph Lewis. Together, Hall and Lewis have formed perhaps the best wide receiver core in all of high school football. Having other well-recruited prospects around him has definitely helped Hall take his game to new levels. “Some of my teammates are highly recruited. They motivate me to be the best and to work hard,” the 4-star recruit said. “They also help me with my attitude and getting over myself. I stay very humble because I know what I can do, but I have to keep working.”

Throughout his high school career, Hall has improved, not only through his work on the football field but also as a track star. “I don’t know yet whether I’ll be running track in college, but most likely, yes. If I’m not running track, I’ll be doing some type of speed training to get faster.” he said

Hall has been running track all of high school and it has clearly had an impact on his success as a wide receiver: “It helps me stay in shape for football season all year. Track helps me with my explosiveness, so when football season comes around, I’ll be more of a dominant player.”

With the skills that he developed through track, Hall was able to have a career sophomore season, resulting in All-League and Player of the Year honors, but Hall isn’t done yet, saying, “I just want to be the best out there.”

A vital component in Hall’s success throughout high school has been the role his family has played. Hall’s godfather, Milvon James, is the head coach at Augustus F. Hawkins while Hall’s uncle, Malik James, is an assistant coach. “They’ve been to college, played for Division 1 schools, and have had a chance at the highest level, so they basically tell me that it’s no joke. Nothing is going to be given to me, so I have to work hard at what I’ve been doing.” Hall said.

With offers coming in weekly, Jalen Hall is indisputably an elite prospect in the Class of 2018, but don’t expect him to get complacent. “I need to show that I’m the best, that’s the main thing. I’m gonna keep showing that and keep getting better. So, I have to keep grinding and keep working hard. I’ve earned what I have.”
